HALONG BAY

Halong Bay is comprised of over 3000 islands jutting up through the Gulf of Tonkin, and it is a Unesco World Heritage Site. We saw it on an overnight boat trip.

People actually live in floating villages here (complete with schools and dogs), because most Halong Bay islands are far too steep and rocky to live on the islands themselves (with the exception of Cat Ba, pictured above right).
